This is the story of a costume that I built for a one-woman show. I sewed every item, from the corset to the over-dress.

7) The End Approacheth
The last details were the addition of a delicate pink fichu, matching engageantes and the elasticated band with a decorative cameo brooch. If you are a sucker for details, you will have noted a picture of the costume design rendering that appears in the background in several of these photos. I can email this to folks who are interested, but it is not mine to share with the world... but it is the beginning, the inception of the piece. Theater is a long (and difficult) process, involving many people. I am the last in a long chain of people who work to bring a show to the stage. In this particular case, M—— designed the costume for the actress, R—— draped (developed the pattern) and J—— helped to advise and mentor both R—— and myself through the pattern, mock-up and final product. Without contributions from everyone, the dress that you are about to see would not exist. Again, I can not post a photo of the dress in the production, but if you email me, I will do so... meantime, on a dress form, the whole damned thing...
I am a pretty simple person, I like to ride my bike, read my books and make stuff. I am lucky because I ride my bike to work, get paid to make stuff and then come home and read my books. I want to share my pretty pictures with the world and explain exactly what I do with my time...
